Or better yet, just leave it on the field. UConn and Central Florida are blood rivals by birth. They hate each other with the intensity of 1,000 burning suns. They start every season, with one goal… to beat the other gu….. oh, wait. No. No they don’t.
UConn head coach Bob Diaco decided 3 years ago he would just invent a “rivalry” against the best team in the league, as a way to motivate his players. Problem is, UCF didn’t consent to it, and they haven’t exactly “bought in” since – even after losing to UConn the last two years.
So what happened last Saturday in the “Civil Conflict?” UCF stopped a 2-game losing streak, by beating the Huskies on their own field. The trophy? It was left on the field. In the rain.
A new chapter, is born.
