Top prep star O.J. Mayo said he will be in class Tuesday after transferring for his senior season from North College Hill in Cincinnati, making it three schools in four years. Said Mayo, who did not comment on his reasons for the move: "It's exciting to go home, but it's sad leaving North College Hill."
It didn’t take a genius to be able to predict the tone and coverage of the Hurricane Katrina anniversary by most of the “Drive By” liberal media. I said it would go something like this. (Condensed talking point) “It’s all President Bush’s fault, because he’s STUPID, and HATES black people.”
I always love the question: "Is it time to panic?" Well, what if it WAS time to panic? Would panic help? I’ve resisted getting all hyped up over the T.O./Big Tuna showdown in Dallas. Partly because ESPN is doing enough hype on their own. But mostly I’ve resisted this story, because it was just too early, and nothing really of substance had happened. No longer. The first air raid siren has been sounded, and everyone needs to be at their battlestations.
Every now and then, I am stunned by the reactions I get from callers to both my nationally syndicated Fox Sports Radio show, and my local show on Sportstalk 980. So I took calls, and more calls, and all through the day, only ONE guy actually stood up for Gene Upshaw. One. That’s it! Incredible!
Tiger Woods keeps on turning Major Championship Sundays into a complete farce, and an almost unwatchable one at that. Oh, I'm sure the TV ratings will be good, but I used to remember being on the edge of my seat watching majors. I guess Tiger has just crushed the rest of the PGA Tour's spirit, in addition to crushing his Nike all over the place.
Well, that didn’t take long. Randy Moss is already unhappy with his coach and his QB. Seen Monday night stomping his feet, and lecturing Aaron Brooks on the sideline, Moss after the game bitched about being pulled from the game by Art Shell after limited action. It's funny how many people still think Moss is worthy of being an NFL team's "leader."
The pre-season blows. Everybody knows that. It's full priced football, with full priced beer, with a bunch of guys playing 3 quarters of the game who should be SERVING us the beer. But it is what it is. And starters have to play at least SOME of these games. And yes, sometimes, they get hurt. Somebody clue Clinton into this, and tell him to stop whining.

Of all the future jock arrests that will certainly happen in the days, months, years to come, I sincerely doubt that any of them will have a combo like Maurice put together. Consider all the “keywords” that appeared in his arrest…. "Vodka" "Tazers" "Spike Strips" "Bulletproof Vest" and "Four Loaded Guns."
Has the NFL gone “soft” on crime? In 2000, the league instituted new anti-crime push in the wake of the Ray Lewis Cobalt Lounge fiasco. That summer, o-linemen like Matt O’Dwyer, Jason Fabini, and Jumbo Elliot of the Jets got into a rather generic bar fight. O’Dwyer and Elliot both got TWO game suspensions.
Elian Gonzales has weighed in on the health (or sickness) of Fidel Castro. And guess what? He’s hoping the old coot gets better. Aw. Isn’t that sweet? Like he was going to say ANYTHING else! He’s under Castro’s communist boot.
Just got back from Wisconsin last week, and the Annual Bob & Brian Open. Played golf with a great bunch of guys, who spit, cuss, drank, and didn’t take anybody or anything seriously. How refreshing that was. I think I need to drink more and care less on the golf course. Could be something there that I am missing.
